Don't Dream It's Over
Happy first day of Pride Month and the start of #1000wordsofsummer for those who celebrate / participate!
Life has been life-ing lately, so neither of us had a post ready, but we wanted to pop in your inbox for a quick note so you don’t think we forgot about you.
We haven’t! We love you and are grateful you’re here.
Rachel came across this Cleo Wade quote:
Yet sometimes life doesn’t let us get the work done. Hopefully that’s not the case for you right now. But if illness keeps hitting your house and your to-do list keeps piling and writing is just not happening, we hope you can honor the dream today in some tiny way.
Maybe it’s a short walk spent thinking about your project, or finding a song that hits at your story’s themes. Because sometimes work doesn’t happen on the page, it’s in our heads. And sometimes we need a break from thinking about it. A weekend away from writing can be good for our writing. Which reminded Amy of one of her all-time favorite quotes:
When people say that nothing happens in their life I believe them. But you must understand that everything happens to an artist; time is always redeemed, nothing is lost and wonders never cease.
That’s Muriel Spark in Loitering With Intent. We very much hope it’s true for you. And you can consider that this week’s book recommendation! As for a song, here’s a little throwback for you:
Wishing you a beautiful weekend full of whatever you need to fuel your creative dreams right now. <3
