If you want want a new book, then you want it
Today is Indie Bookstore Day! This means if you stop in basically any independent bookstore near you (find one here), they’ll probably have a fun discount, merch, snacks or special guest to treat you with. Or they’ll just be fun people who are there to love books with you!
The bookstore that has my heart is Madison Street Books in the West Loop, so that’s where I’m headed, but don’t sleep on the dozens of others in Chicagoland if you’re local to Chicago. If you’re feeling ambitious, you can attempt the Bookstore Crawl— if you hit 10 bookstores and have them stamp your passport, you get 10% off every Chicago-area bookstore for the year! (Passport comes with your first $20 purchase, after that, no purchase required)
If you needed an excuse to go pick up a new book, this is it! No judgment if it turns into two new books, as far as vices go this one is pretty tame (is what I tell myself). If you do pick one up, leave us a comment with what bookstore you visited and what you got! Gives us ideas for next time. :)
