I suppose whatever direction was not clear in the game, lol, which is fair! But the most usual ending involves taking the dog on a walk to free one from the house at least lol.
And nice! Hope you share the spoils once it's done.
I checked it out again and can't figure out how to take Sgt Spork for a walk! But playing again let me explore the house so more and I deleted the files from the computer. Really cool graphics! It makes me want to check out Bitsy.
Thanks! I'm still tinkering but I'd like to share them when I finish.
Oh don't fret it, Bitsy has its downsides for usability. Generally the rule of Bitsy is to just go try and shove your avatar into everything and see what happens lol.
Perhaps one day, I came up with a few game concepts around that time but I would need to work with someone who actually knows how to code to do that. I have too many things to do to learn coding unfortunately.
I hear you! I also don't have the time to learn coding right now, all I've been doing is copying codes I find online. (Some that work better than others, ha.)
I took an interactive fiction class a few years ago, coding definitely can be fun! I wonder who/where you are taking it (I took one with Nat Mesnard). It did unfortunately give me a few ideas for video games I do not and will not have the skills to code.
It was through One Story with Nat! They're so great. Yeah, the coding is tricky. I could make such cool things if I could only figure out some of the more advanced coding. But it's still fun even with basic coding.
Haha, that's awesome! I assumed there weren't many people doing those sorts of classes, so it's fun to know it is with them. What engine are you doing the coding for? I did my game in Bitsy and went kind of deeper on the codes/hacks (it's actually on my website still, it's called Move To Trash)
There are a few codes I can't seem to get to work, which is limiting the effects I want my pieces to have. But I keep trying, thinking eventually I'll crack it... And I just played Move To Trash! Really enjoyed it! You capture the futility and claustrophobic feel of lockdown. My favorite part is "You've read all these books..." Oh, 2020.
haha, thanks for reading! Curious which ending you got—I think there are at least 3 quite different endings I built into it.
And yeah, I feel you. You might look and see if there are any Twine-based communities you could join, as I joined a Bitsy discord when I was doing mine, and there were some really helpful people in there I could ask questions when things weren't working as I was hoping that they would. You might be able to find someone to help figure out what small thing you're doing wrong that is keeping things from working!

Haha, I will have to remember that! I'd love to check out more of your interactive fiction if you ever make more!

Yes, love them! I'm working in Twine, so unfortunately don't know a thing about Bitsy. I'll have to check out Move To Trash! (Doing that now...)
Twine is pretty cool and powerful, just was harder for me to figure out what to do with it (I've made a few other things with it since then tho)
